I used to work in the City as one of those awful derivatives traders – you know – those instruments that financial journalists and politicians keep telling everyone are so complicated! I don’t pretend to have any comprehension of the weird securitised things that blew the mortgage market apart, but if puts, calls and futures are too difficult for these journalists to understand then I guess it explains why they write rather than do!

Anyway, I used to have an OK reputation as a chartist in addition to trading options (hence the comment above) and have a fair grasp of fundamentals (also very modest!) so I thought I would start penning a few thoughts on the markets. They are my opinions. Whilst I used to have all the FSA bits and bobs I don’t now, so if you listen and agree and make money well done. If you listen, agree and lose, don’t come running to me!
